人々が幸せに生きられる世界を夢見て、身近なものからポジティブなものを拾い上げ、磁器を材料として立体造形を作っています。日々の生活の中で、誰もが少しずつ感じている不安や、もやっとした感情を、作品の中で明るく肯定し、肩の力が抜けるような瞬間を演出することを目指しています。

質感は本物そっくりの代表作のバナナを筆頭に、ポップな色彩とユーモア溢れる作風から、観る者に元気と笑いを届けています。

また杉本作品は「自由・開放や幸福」が制作のテーマで＜ふくよかなおばちゃん＞も主なモチーフです。自分の気持ちに正直で自由の象徴としてよく使います。 他人からの評価より自分の価値観で人生を楽しめるおばちゃんマインドがあるからです。陶芸と思えない、軽やかな浮遊感のある不思議な世界とダイナミックでしなやかな動きが特徴です。見た目はユーモラスで少し不思議ですが、どの作品にも「あなたのままで大丈夫」というメッセージを込めています。

作品を通して、ほんの少しでも人々の日常にポジティブな風を吹き込めたらと願っています。

Dreaming of a world where people can live happily, she picks up positive moments from everyday life. and creates 3D sculptures using ceramics as a material. In our daily routines, everyone experiences moments of anxiety or vague unease. Through her work, she aims to gently affirm these emotions, creating moments that make people feel at ease and smile without even realizing it.

Starting with her representative banana, which has a texture that looks exactly like the real thing, her pop colors and humorous style bring energy and laughter to viewers.

The theme of Sugimoto’s work is “freedom, liberation and happiness,” and the main motif is the plump auntie. She often uses it as a symbol of freedom which is honest about her feelings .

This is because she admires the “auntie mindset” that enjoys life according to her own values rather than the evaluation of others. Despite being made of ceramics, her works often express a unique sense of lightness and dynamic motion.  They may appear humorous or surreal, but at their core, each piece carries a message: “You’re okay just the way you are.”

Through her art, she hopes to bring a gentle breeze of positivity into people’s everyday lives—even just a little.
